Updated Universal-R launched
June 2011
Thermofrost Cryo have introduced an updated version of the popular Dixell Universal-R electronic controller, designed as a service replacement for 150 different industry standard 32 x 74 mm refrigeration controls. And the already easy programming has been made even simpler in the new version.
The Universal-R can now accept either a 12 volt or a 230 volt power supply, thanks to its inbuilt transformer. It can be used to replace refrigeration thermostats, thermostats with off-cycle, electric or hot gas defrost, thermostats with twin evaporator defrost, dead band control thermostats, and also has a compressor or condenser protection function. Other key features include automatic probe type recognition, audible and visual high and low temperature alarms, anti-tamper keypad protection and compressor short cycle protection. In addition it can be programmed as a heating thermostat, with a control range up to 150 degrees C.
Even though it now includes these additional features, programming of the Universal-R has been made even easier than in the previous model, now requiring only three simple steps.
The updated Universal-R is designated version v4, and is easily recognisable by its new look facia. Despite the extensive improvements, prices of the Universal-R remain unchanged.
A comprehensive replacement guide, detailing the 150 models of controller that the Universal-R can replace, is included with the product information that can be downloaded using the link below:
